HELP!!
I have just installed a Linksys Wireless-B 4-port access point/router with the additional Linksys signal booster accessory attached. I am using DHCP. I have given my router an explicit SSID name and I am using channel 11.
Each of my 2 Windows XP pro PC’s have a Linksys WMP11 v2.7 Wireless PCI lan adapter installed.
The PC’s communicate fine with the access point, but following a brief period will loose communication and the “more then one network is available” baloon appears in the system tray. There are then 3 available networks available to attach to. Is there a possibilty that others in my neighborhood are using the same product? I have tried using several different channel combinations.
At this point I am forced to enter the WEP keys again and sign back in, tedious to say the least.
I am using WEP (128 encryption) with SSID enabled. I have tried disabling WEP and SSID which seems to imporve my situation until I reboot my PC’s at which time I am unable to connect at all. I even have tried using static IP’s with no help.
The PC’s and access point are all on the same channel.
I have contacted Linksys tech support and they are useless.
Can anybody out there help??
