Linux antivirus scanner for windows network

Greetings all,

I was wondering if anyone would have any suggestions for a linux distro or base with extra packages that i would be able to setup on a fileserver that can actively scan the local system(especially when new drives are introduced) as well as be able to scan all network pc’s, irrelevent of os or platform.
I’m setting a “minor” network at home and would just like to be able to have a consistent and stable security pc/platform.
I’m not completely raw to linux. So even if the system requires a little technical detail to setup, i’d like to check it out.

Any help in this regard would be greatly
appreciated.
