Local admin rights for a domain user on multiple computers

I have a domain user (non-domain admin) that needs local admin rights on a group of computers. I thought there was a way to add the computers to a GPO and add the user to manage that group as a Local admin.

i am either totally wrong, or just dont remember how to do it

any help?
