Ok I am having lots of trouble connecting to my network!
I recently upgraded one server from NT 4 to Windows 2000 Server and added a second as a BDC.
The Problem is that I can not get any of the workstations to connect to the domain, this includes both windows 2000 and XP pcs. I was able to have one PC connect properly, this was because I did a complete fresh install of windows 2000 wkst.
I have tried converting the all the pcs? back to workstations and then converting them back to domain clients. This will sometimes works but if you reboot the PC it will stop connecting and displays a message at login screen saying…
“can not connect to server, either domain controller is down or account not found….”
But if you were to login as a work group you are able to connect to the server, (pop-up window asking for login and password).
If I try recreate a user on the PC I receive an error message that says…
“Trust relationship between workstation and primary domain failed”
I even tried shutting down one server to see if it would help – but no luck!
I am lost to why it is doing this!
