I’ve been working in telecommunications for eight years now, dealing with telephones, switches, computers, networks, etc. I spent six years in the military doing that, and just over two in the corporate world. I just finished my AA at a university, and I’m trying to decide which path I should take from here.
I’ve considered a few majors: Comp Sci, Information Systems, and Electrical Engineering. My ultimate goal is to be an ‘engineer’ of sorts in convergence (VoIP, telephony, networking), but I want to make sure I get off on the right foot. Comp Sci and Info Systems are obvious choices for me for the networking portion, but EE is also something I am considering.
Any opinions on which degree would aid me in my career as either a Network Engineer or ‘engineer’ in convergence?
