Hi there, I would greatly appreciate any guidance on the below question.
I work as a botanist (plant scientist) and collect lots of geo-referenced data on plant species locations. I would like to be able to easily walk around and map the location of various plant species, so am looking for an app that has these functions:
– can load in a custom dictionary, and then be able to write lists of plants which will filter using this dictionary. E.g. I want to type Acacia acinaceae, so when I start writing Acacia it will filter down the list the more letters I put in that match the names in the dictionary.
– I would then like to be able to geo-reference (map) each entry and be able to export the list of plants, each with its unique spatial reference (coordinate) depending on where in the landscape I was standing at the time.
The technology is obviously there but I’m not sure if there is an app anywhere that has this capability.
