Lost data in iPassSafe mobile app

I have used a mobile App called iPassSafe to store UID’s and passcodes for several years. It’s loaded on an iPhone and is the free version of the App. It has the Face ID feature which I use. Last week I opened the App and a pop-up box appeared requesting me to enter a new passcode in case the Face ID feature was inoperable. I created a new passcode and the App opened. However, all my previous stored entries were gone (over 200 items). I did not have the cloud back up setting set to “on” or any other means of backup. In fact, if I try to access the App now it asks me to enter a new passcode again. Any ideas or thoughts on how to get back all my information? Or why this happened? I sent an email to the developer but no response. TIA
