Mac address tracing or detection on a cisco network

I work in the networking department of my university and we have had a few students have their laptops stolen. i was wondering if there was any way to do a mac address detection across all our switches on campus and have them give us an alert if the mac shows up anywere on campus. is there a tool or command set for the switches that would allow us to do this.
