I’ve got a Lexmark x9350 All in One, and recently installed Leopard on my Mac. Now when trying to print wirelessly, from any application (Word, Pages, Acrobat, Preview, etc.), nothing happens except that the program I’m trying to print from crashes. This happens with all wireless printers.
I think I’ve figured out the problem, but can’t seem to figure out the fix. Apparently, there is a bug in Leopard the keeps it from recognizing wireless printers over a network when the URL of the printer contains spaces or the %20 designation. Thus, you can’t install a driver or print to the printer.
Here is my printer URL: mdns://%209300%20Series._ipp._tcp.local.
I need to change it to: mdns://9300Series._ipp._tcp.local.
I have tried to change this by going directly to the printer’s IP address in my web browser, but there is no option to change the URL mdns information. Does anyone know how to do this for a Lexmark x9350 printer?
If anyone else is having this problem, here is a good string that explains how to fix it for HP printers and probably most others (just scroll to the bottom): http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1267994&tstart=0
Thanks in advance.
