managing php

HI guys, I am wondering if anyone can help me. my works website has been developed in php and not word press? Sorry if I am not using the correct language, so I can’t make ANY changes on content without going through the web developer who is obviously a free lancer so does not always have the time to change my content straight away if we have a compliance issue, etc. Is there anyway around this?
