Managing remote laptops via WSUS 3..0

WSUS configuration:

WSUS 3.0
One WSUS server, setup with local storage of updates.

Our remote laptops are in their own OU. I would like to have the updates
detected and approved via WSUS and have the clients download the updates
from the MS update site, rather than the internal WSUS server. Is this
possible without setting up a second WSUS server with remote storage? Thank
