manual scan does not work in symantec

by agnessurijah . Updated 18 years, 6 months ago

I have network, all with Symantec Corporation Edition. Once, my computer infected by W32MySamurai. I follow the instruction from Symantec Technical Support, delete in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Shell (=Explorer.exe%WinWindir%Explore.exe)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\DesktoP\SCRNSAVE.EXE (=%System%\Windows3D.scr)

But after that, I can’t do manual scan, always :
Scan Engine returned error 0x20000058

If I turn off the service system for Symantec, it works. Also in safe mode, it works well.

I have uninstall and reinstall. Didn’t help.
Symantec Support Web page (http://service4.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/pfdocs/2000051013322148) suggests to stop and start the service system. I have tried, but it did not work.

Please somebody help me.

Thanks
