Mastering Windows XP Home service pack 2…

Hi Tech Republic , I have recently changed my o/s to Windows XP Home edition with sp2… Now I am currently trying to download from the internet various security options for my p/c… I am having trouble downloading , large to middle sized downloads due to the fact that I am operating with
service pack 2… Do you guys have any suggestions for configuring sp2 or getting around sp2 to download files from the internet…Your advice would be greatly appreciated… Thank you… Ian..
