Matrox Video Card

I need to Install a Video card in a Compaq Deskpro EP win98 OS.

I have the New Video Card and the Driver for the card.
I was told to open the computer in Safe mode and remove the existing video driver and shut down.
Remove the existing card andreplace with new one.
When I power on Win98 should recognize the new Video card and ask for the driver.
Does this sould right right?
