Maxtor hard drive failures

Hello,

I work for a company that has seen many of the Maxtor hard drives fail recently. 20gb slimlines and most recently 40gb 5400rpm 2mb failures. The symptoms are as follows- drive because increasingly noisy – often right out of the box- and then eventually will not boot at all. The noise sounds like a bearing noise. We’ve had a bout 80 of these fail. Question: has anyone else out there experienced a high rate of failure with 20gb and 40gb Maxtor hard drives?
