Maxtor SATA Hard Drive / ASUS P4PE

I just assembled a new computer (everything new) I have an Asus P4PE main board, and a Maxtor Diamond Plus 9 80G SATA harddrive. Bois is updated and sata is enabled, but when booting it searches for an IDE drive.
