Measuring Performance

As I read an article regarding project management, in this very site, it mentioned that it is important to measure before and after a project. The last time I did a major upgrade on my server it “seemed” slower but wasn’t sure. When I upgrade from3.2 to NW5 I want to do some before and after performance measuring; printing, file transfer etc. is there a tool that can run a suite of tests and get some before and after results?
