meeting requests and automatic calendar entry

We do not have an exchange server, but do use Outlook as our mail client. The CEO responds to outlook meeting invitations from outside companies, but he does not want them to populate in his calendar. I checked settings in Office 2003 and could not find anything that would accomplish this. Am I looking in the wrong place? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
