I work for a company who refurbishes second user equipment and have recently come across a problem that has me baffled.
It involves a compaq 5100 professional workstaion running on a P11 350,128MBs of ram,4.1GB SCSI HDD, LS120 super disk drive, 32 speed cd-rom and win95.
I installed a intel Ham v90 data fax modem and the install procedure went smoothly but when the modem is acessed it causes a blue screen with the simple message Memory parity error and the computer then has to be powered of to restart it, my initial thaught was to test the modem on one of my test beds witch i did and it worked fine discounting the modem as being at fault. So i then ran pc check on the compaqs ram using a full test and this also tested up ok so i don’t understand where the memory parity error is being generated can anyone out there help please!!!!
