I have a 128mb pc100 ram in my computer running on Win2000. I’m trying to upgrade the ram but each time my system does not start up.
If I try to add more ram the ram, the BIOS appears to load up correctly and Window starts loading but then I geta blue screen telling me the ACPI is not updated. What does that havea to do with memory?
If I try to take out my old memory and just use the new one, the BIOS will not even load.
I’ve tried this with several different memory chips, the lastone being Kingston. All the chips are compliant with my motherboard.
I notice that my memory chip is smaller. Its 128 pin, but in terms of the chip size, they are smaller. Could that have anything to do with it? Also, when the memory check inthe beginning starts, it tells me I have NVRAM.
