Microsoft botched Vista MSDN Download

by pmcgrath1 . Updated 19 years, 7 months ago

I have a MSDN universal subscription. So on Friday, while at work, I check the download page for the Vista RTM download. Sure enough it?s there. Figuring I?d play around with it this weekend, and having a faster connection at home, I decided to wait until I got home to download the 3 + GB .iso. By the time I got home, it was gone. No download listed. I started a chat with MSDN support and they said it was taken down because they couldn?t support the bandwidth. They were going to need to reconfigure and try again next week

5 years, and they weren?t ready for the download rush!? What the $#%@. Who was suppose to be responsible for this? They had to know it would be huge. With all the ?modeling algorithms? they have, they weren?t able to figure out how many servers and data lines they would need to get this out? Stupid, stupid, stupid. This company needs an enema. Their Zune player will be a failure. The only outcome from this will be more bad publicity. If they couldn?t handle the bandwidth, they shouldn?t have offered it as a download. I?m sure most people would have understood the reason not to publish a 3+ GB file on the internet. Anyway, BOOOOO Microsoft.
