This is a very, very strange problem. There is a user that has a Macintosh and is using Microsoft Entourage. He has an IMAP account set up. The user stated that he clicked on something yesterday and now email is being sent to the “Folders on My Computer” Inbox. This is the equivalent of “personal folders” in Outlook.
I removed the IMAP account and recreated it. This caused a whole different set of problems. It took all of the user’s sent mail on the mail server and moved it to the Trash folder on the mail server. The other thing is that when he receives new messages now, it is not only still sending it to the “Folders on My Computer” Inbox , but it also sends what I would deem a copy to the “trash” folder on the server.
I would appreciate ANY insight on what could possibly be causing this problem. Thank you.
