Microsoft Exchange setup in WAN

I would like to setup additional exchange server, our main exchange server is located in other country, I am thinking that I can use our VPN connection to have this exchange connected to our main exchange server in WAN environment. If you have any documentations on how to do it, please send me one. Thanks.
