Microtek scanner lamp won’t move

My 3750i scanner (less than 1 yr old) has just stopped working. The lamp lights up but when I try to scan something it makes a funny noise (similar to what it would sound like if the lamp was in the locked position, but it is NOT)and the lampwillnotmove. I’ve turned it off/on, unplugged it and reinstalled the software. I have also contacted Microtek tech support twice but with no response.
