Migrating a SBS 2003 to new hardware with sbs 2003

I have migrated SBS 2003 to the new server and they are up and running with no problems. The problem is, I did not get a chance to demote the old server. It shut down and now it has been shut down for 3 days. Do I still need to demote this server since they are up and running on the new server with no issues?
