Minimum DSL configuration for IIS

by bprats . Updated 25 years, 1 month ago

Assisting a student with very limited funds to setup a minimum Web server for development. The ISP is providing 5 IP addresses on a DSL line. The server is Windows 2000 and IIS. There will be 2 NICs on the server, one for the DSL side and a secondfor the local hub and W98 clients. Email will be employed.

What is the minimum configuration from the DSL line to the server network card that will give some degree of server security. I was thinking about the Linksys DSL router hub (single port) for its firewall like features. Any suggestions appreciated.
