Mirror breaks after initializing using D

by ddewii . Updated 25 years, 9 months ago

I had a drive failure on an NT server that was mirrored via Disk Administrator. I broke the mirror, restarted and brought a new disk online. I successfully remirrored the drive and it was healthy once again.

However, my intent was to break the mirror once again and replace the good original drive (4.5GB/5400RPM) with another replacement drive (9.1GB/10000RPM) so I could remirror a second time using identical disks. IT WON’T WORK!!! I’ve tried six times, reformatted the new drive (twice), used the SCSI utilities to zero fill the drive (twice), changed the SCSI ID from 2 to 0 (1 is my boot disk), but it still won’t regenerate a healthy mirror. I thought running a low-level format and letting NT write a new signature on the disk would work, but it doesn’t. What else can I do??? I know the disk is good, because I’ve verified it not only in the SCSI utilities, but also NT. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!!!
