Mirror Drives

This is the thrid time this has happened to me, the site lost power for a period of time last night and the UPS kept the sever up as long as possible before the shut down software kicked in. However the all three times when I turned the system back on the server had to resync the hard drives for the mirror. This process consumes alot of the server resources causing a major network slow down.

How can I tell the server that in the event of the mirror breaking to only resync at night?
