Mirror Drives

I have two 8.4 gig SCSI drives on Windows 2000 Server. The first drive is partitioned 3.0 / 5.4. the second drive i am trying to mirror the first. The help indicateds to right click on drive and do mirror drive, however it is greyed out. when i create the volume it only lets me create a simple drive the mirror drive is greyed out. i tried with it as a basic drive and a dynamic neither works, any ideas??
