mirroring of hard disks

Hi,
I have got a raid disk from a already running server, now we got a new server and i need to make it up and running. i was supposing that i can take this mirrored disk from the previous server and make the new server running with the same. and later mirror the hard disk of the new server with this disk. can anyone tell me how to do this.. and whether this is possible or not.
