Missing Attachments in Outlook 2003

When I receive a message for a particular sender with a PDF attachment, the attachment disappears. I think I saw it for a second, but then it is gone.

I know it was sent, because I see it on the server when I go to that website.

I am running plain Outlook 2003 – I do not have a server or am I part of a network.

Help.
