An overzealous not-so-power user has made substantial additions, customizations, and modifications to his Windows NT Workstation 4.0 (SP6a) desktop and system. I have not been able to find a cause for a problem I’ve not seen before:
Whenever helogs on after he has used (and logged off of) the workstation previously, none of the startup programs in the C:\WINNT\Profiles\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder will load. Not even the speaker icon will come up next to the clock at the right end of the taskbar! If he logs on, however, after a cold boot or a Shut Down/Restart sequence, everything loads fine.
Since no other users on the system have the same problem, I assume that the problem lies in his registry, but I have notbeen able to find the appropriate keys. Any ideas?
