Modem approved by AUSTEL

I have an IBM ThinkPad with an internal modem. All bought in Australia. Modem is approved by AUSTEL.

Does anybody know if I can use this modem in Europe, specifically France or UK – without any alterations or additions?

Do the french and british telecom connectors fit into a modem used in Australia?
