modem configuration

have a hp pav 3260 w/lucent isa modem. downloaded new driver and installed. now no modem folder in control panel, installs modem as other device. modem in system has no properties and cannot remove. only remove w/driver update uninstall. tried pci modem, would not load software. win95 machine worked fine before driver update. need help……
