From device mgr – I removed com 1, from the control panel I removed the old modem, shut down, then physically removed the old modem. Hooked the new modem up & Win 95 did not find it.
I installed it from the Add Hardware control panel, and the correct driver from the internet. The modem is using com 1, com 1 is using IRQ 4.
When attempting to dial out or do a diagnostic test windows can’t detect the modem. Several of the 7 lights on the modem flash on / off during this process, so it is doing something. This modem has 8 dip switches – no clue which ones should be on.
I also put a .inf file in the inf folder – this was with the driver. Tried other windows drivers also. I have no manual for this modem.
