Modem

Need to be able to dial into one of my servers and move data back and forth. Server 1 (2003) has the dhcp and main info. I am dialing in to server 2 (XP). When I dial in, the modem will answer. Then it will go thru the process of verifying user name and password. It stay that way for about 10 – 15 secs, then hang up for a redial. What is missing to complete the process?
