MOM and windowsupdates

Greetings.

I installed MOM 2005 on a test server and installed the agents on a workstation and a server. These also happen to be the ones I can no longer run critical updates on via windows updates (run manually). I can’t help thinking there is a connection. Maybe installing the agent changes the persmissions? When I run windowsupdates they download and look like they install, but in the summary they show up in red and have failed. Uninstalling the MOM agent does not cure the problem. Any ideas?
