I’m just gonna blow off a little steam here and since I consider you all my family… cough cough… 🙂 I figure this was as good a place as any.
I went on this job interview about 5 weeks ago. I wasn’t really looking for a job but my resume is up on job site because hey… you just never know. This job is one of those jobs that I’ve always told my self that no matter where I was working or what I was doing if I had the opportunity I would jump at it. The proverbial brass ring.
Following the interview (which lasted 6 hours) I was told that there were still two candidates that they were going to interview but they would let me know one way or the other in 2 to 3 weeks. At the end of the fourth week I sent a “tickler” email out to the hiring manager just to say hi and inquire as to where things stood. He told me they were in the final descision making process and would be making a final descision either that day or Monday. Two weeks have since past.
I sent another email again politly inquiring as to the status, this time I have heard nothing. Of course I have come to the realization that this time it wasn’t to be. Ok, no big deal like I said, I wasn’t really looking anyway and I’m not unhappy where I am.
My problem is they said they would get back to me one way or the other and between phone interviews and in person interviews with drive time I have invested at least 14 hours into this process. Is it really too much to ask for them to at least have the courtesy to let me know I didn’t get it?
Ok, I’m done ranting now. Thanks for listening.
