Monitor not responding

I have a IBM Thinkcentre PC, which is having a 17″ colour CRT monitor. Recently when I start my PC monitor rvebemians in the sleeping mode. Even the MENU of monitor is not working. However when I disconnects its data cable from CPU, it gives the message ‘input cable unplugged or no input signal’
What should I do , Can somebody help
