motherboard malfunction

by victorjulietpapa . Updated 22 years, 7 months ago

i recently opened up my cabinet to clean up inside as it was very dusty. i unassembled each component and vacuumed it. when i reassembled it, it started giving me trouble. as soon as i turn up the power it gives a loud beeping sound. for example when your graphics card is lose it gives one long beep followed by three short, a pause and one short again. in this case each beep is some 2 seconds long and it is continuously repeated. the light on my monitor is green but there is no signal. can anybody tell me what the beep means, and how to resolve the problem? any resource on the internet that can help will do too. my motherboard is a jetway j-7xb and the bios is an award bios dated 24Aug1998. i have 64MB of ram in 2 modules of 32MB each. An SiS 6326 AGP graphics card, a d-link internal modem based on the Motorola SM56PCI chipset, and a Avance Logic als100+ soundcard. harddisks are 2 in number, one 10.2GB and the other 20.4 GB (both seagate U series). any information will be of great help.
