MOTOROLA SM56 MODEM PROBLEM

Hi, I need some help please. I have installed above modem (SM56) with windows XP. I set up a normal internet connection…and when i dial it connects without any problems. However, when I setup an incoming connection…the modem answers when dialled but cuts off while connecting. Can someone please help me with a solution….I have not had this problem with other modem types.
