Moving Domain Controllers to new location – Failover? How?

by sage69 . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

My company will be moving our entire server farm from our current office and hosting company A over to hosting company B. We currently have two Domain Controllers in our local office and one DC3 at hosting company A. DNS is configured on all three with DC1 being primary, DC2 being secondary. DC3 is just for redundancy.

We plan on moving DC2 from our local office over to hosting company B (during the move) and bringing our DC from hosting company A back into the local office so that in the end will still have two DCs (DC1 & DC3) locally and DC2 at hosting company B.

My question is how can I plan this domain controllers move so that there is no break in our current production environment and will not affect current servers/clients currently connected?

I am not too sure of the steps I would need to take to get this accomplished. Any help would be appreciated.
