I have a 7 year old computer that’s making to many funny noises and making my client nervous. I want to migrate the system to brand new hardware, a dell server with a raid controller.
The old system is running windows server 2000 and I basically want to image the disk and recreate the image on the new hardware. So far I’ve tried the following:
1) Norton Ghost 10.0 – Won’t install on Windows server 2000.
2) NT Backup – Following MS instructions I’ve created a backup of the Old Server. Then I was going to install a fresh copy of windows server 2000 on the new system and restore from the backup, but the Windows Server 2000 Install won’t recognize the drives. When I attempt to load 3rd Party drivers during install, The Install program is looking for an A: Drive. I don’t have a floppy in the new system.
I’m looking for the easiest, lowest cost ideas as to how to accomplish this.
Any help would be appreciated.
