hey i’m new out here on tech republic, my second day in fact. but i had a question that i was wondering if anyone had any insight. i need to find a quick and effecient way to convert video in VHS or DVD formats into MPEG. right now, i play the media through a vhs/dvd player and run it through this “terapin” converter. it forms the video into a .dat format. i then have to run that through an application called “vcd gear” to convert it from a .dat file to an .mpeg file. Do you all have any suggestions on how to do it better, quicker, with excellent quality? also do you guys know anything about video capture cards? i need something with a little less dazzle, just something more professional. i’m not looking to spend like two grand plus, but around one thousand is where i’m looking. if you guys have any insight i would love it!
