MS Access – Input Mask – Export

I am a Access novice and am importing a text file then adding an input mask to get the data how I need it to print. When I use that same database in another program to print my records the input mask is not used. When I attempt to export the data as comma delimted it does not include the mask. Is there a way to permanently alter the data with a mask? Does this make sense? Thanks for anyone’s help!
