MS DHCP Server in a VLAN Environment

I am segmenting my LAN in to 7-8VLANs, including VLAN 1 which hosts most of the servers and DHCP. I have tried to configure Cisco switches using “IP Helper-Address” & “IP DHCP Relay” commands but no success. Can someone share his experience with us to resolve this issue?
