MS DNS & WIN2K

I recently migrated to a win2k domain… My 2 domain controllers are set up with dns and are my ns1 & ns2. From within my lan, i can do an nslookup and get a reply from the dns. Outside of the network i get dns request timed out. I have verified that the firewall is open and a port scan shows port 53 is there… do i have to set like an anonymous access setting in order for the outside to use my dns to resolve my websites?
