MS Exchange – if I have 2 servers and 1 fails, can clients send/receive?

Hi,

If I set up 2 Exchange servers for a site – all clients are Outlook – if
the server 1 falls down would users still be able to send and/or
receive email?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I’ve had trouble finding the
answer without asking!

Any help is much appreciated.
