MS Project Server 2003 question – accessibility

by project . Updated 19 years, 1 month ago

I have just recently built a MS Project Server 2003 on a Windows 2003 Server platform. The installation went flawlessly, but there is a hitch, and only one. Several of the PMs who will need to be able to access this server when it’s fully customized have tested their connectivity to it at my request this morning. All but one of them can reach it without error. One however is able to connect to the PWA using IE, but cannot connect using the thick client, MS Project Pro 2003. The error condition occurs if he opens the thick client and tries to connect to the new server, or when he opens PWA, selects a Plan and clicks “Open in Project 2003”.

I won’t waste the bandwidth and server space by posting a screenshot of the error message here, but could happily email it to any who ask. I also documented every single step of the install with screenshots and commentary.

Any ideas on a fix?

Thanks!
