MS Server 2003 after crash down wont shut down

I am running Server 2003 Standard Ed. at home to grab some experience. Accidentally, there was a power supply problem while server was on and working. After rebooting I can not shut it down in a normal way anymore.

When I choose Shut Down option it starts to work on it but freezes with blank screen (still my background colour on it) and shows no further activity at all. I can switch it off manually but it is not really correct functioning of OS.

Can anyone help me with this, please? I would really appreciate that.
